Gillamoor is an attractive, thriving village, nestled on the edge of the North York Moors, a predominantly farming community. At the heart of the village, physically and spiritually is Gillamoor School. The school was built in 1876.
The school buildings have been dramatically transformed over the years. An extension was constructed which is now the – Foundation Stage/KS1 classroom. A mezzanine room is used for a library and group room. The original part of the building houses the Key Stage 2 class, the Office and the children’s’ cloakrooms. A kitchen provides cooked meals for children. Both classrooms double up as dining areas during lunchtimes.
The school has use of the community playing field, including a Multi User Games Area. We also have the use of the local Methodist Chapel for Worship, lessons and activities. The local church, St Aidan’s is also used for Services and celebrations.
what beautiful photos of all the children meeting us. Was complete surprise!
It all happened so quickly ( we were being timed) that could not take it all in, so the pictures are very welcome
What a lovely part of the world to live in
I meant to add…we were in the big red and yellow Buick, CLM 570.
Some people think it looks like a giant Noddy car!
