Slingsby School and Gillamoor School

October 4, 2017 by edgps

On Thursday 13th of July Slingsby School came to Gillamoor. First of all we split into two groups and one group went with Miss Pope and one went with Mr Smith from Slingsby.  We had a very good day and we made lots of new friends. In the morning we wrote Limericks that we wrote and made up ourselves. I was in a group with two boys called Tom and Andrew. We worked together to make up a limerick, so we all made one ourselves and then we combined  them together to make one limerick. I liked them both and they were very friendly and helpful. In the afternoon we played a rounders  match and we won the match with 5 to 3 rounders. Over all it was a fantastic day and we all want to do it again.

Summer Holidays

October 9, 2016 by edgps

I really enjoyed my holidays. They were really fun. I went crab fishing and I caught 2 crabs , 2 fish and 1 flat fish and my sister caught 1 baby crab. We also went to flat rock. The rocks were slippery and wet and at the end we had a water fight. In the holidays I also went to Obie’s house. We played dares and Minnie dared us to be  locked in the toilet but we climbed out of the window.  I went to the beach with my cousins. I swam in the lake that goes to the sea. I went to simy’s house it was fun and  I went to the library to get my medal for the reading challenge. This is the best bit it was my birthday and we went to Creepy Crawlies and I got a pet tortoise!

Rocket Seeds

May 20, 2016 by edgps

For a couple of weeks we have been looking after the Rocket seeds. Everyone has had a go at going upstairs and water the seeds and they are looking very well. We water them with a syringe. We rotate them 180 degrees so the seeds at the front go to the back and the seeds at the back go to the front. Some of  them are looking amazing and some of them are looking a little bit dead but we have been looking after them very properly. They have been doing very good. At the end of the experiment we will find out which seeds have been into space. Will it be the reds or blues?

Hockey

March 17, 2016 by edgps

On Friday 9th March the year 3s and 4s went to a Hockey tournament at Ryedale school. It was very fun and entertaining. I scored  one goal and Benjamin scored a goal to. We came third out of  10 schools!, but we didn’t play all the schools. It was because Kirkbymoorside  had about 5  teams. The people who went were Ed, Benjamin, Laura, Ryan, Alice, Liz and Katie. For most of the time I was a forward which basicly means you score the goals. Me and Benjamin scored a goal. I think we did very well to come third. We played 4 games. I wouldn’t have done it on my own but luckily I had my team to help me.

On Wednesday 13th January we had a visit from Andy Seed the famous author. We asked him questions and he answered them. He told us all about some of the books he wrote and his talk about them was very funny and interesting. He wrote lots of different kind of books for children and adults and he has done lots of things we did not know about, like slipping on a banana skin and coaching three professional soccer players. he

Some of the books he has written:

What I like doing at school

July 7, 2015 by edgps

My favourite thing at school is sport. I like sport, well their is lots of sport including football, rugby, swimming, tennis and many more. As I like sport I don’t care what sport it is. We are going to have some specialist cricket coaching next week and I can’t wait. Sport helps keep you fit and healthy and is a good way to meet new friends. My favourite sports coach at school was Joe from the original after school club. I also enjoy the netball and tennis coaching with Sarah.
